LAURENCE FISHBURNE JOINS SUPERMAN!

When Laurence Fishburne left "CSI," he said it was to return to his film career.

And now he's found his next role.

The actor is slated to appear in the next "Superman" reboot, "Man of Steel."

Fishburne will play Lois Lane and Clark Kent's boss at the Daily Planet, editor-in-chief Perry White, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Previous actors who have played this character include Jackie Cooper in the Christopher Reeve-era "Superman" films and Frank Langella in the 2006 film "Superman Returns."

Fishburne joins an esteemed group of actors who are already attached to the Christopher Nolan-produced film, including Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane and Diane Lane and Kevin Costner as Clark's parents.

"Man of Steel" is due to begin filming this fall and hit theaters in June 2013.
