Kimora Lee Simmons’ Ex Reportedly Wants To Take Son Kenzo To Africa

Kimora Lee Simmons‘ custody arrangement has taken a contentious turn — as her ex Djimon Hounsou seeks joint custody of their son, while her side claims Hounsou is threatening to move the boy to Africa.

Simmons was strolling down the street in Beverly Hills Friday when a man walked up to her and handed her a stack of papers, paparazzi photos of the exchange show. The documents were reportedly legal filings seeking joint custody of their 10-year-old, Kenzo, TMZ reported.

The pair were working out an arrangement privately as recently as June, The Blast reported.

But around the same time, Hounsou publicly complained that Simmons was keeping Kenzo from him, and refused to let them spend Father’s Day together, TMZ reported. Sources told the gossip site at the time that Simmons wasn’t the problem, and Hounsou is an absent father.

Now he’s threatening to take the boy to Africa for good, according to TMZ sources.

Simmons’ ex-husband-turned-friend, Russell Simmons, reportedly said Hounsou asked if he could take Kenzo to Africa for a visit. Russell agreed, as long as Hounsou would sign an agreement pledging to bring him back, but Hounsou refused.

Russell also said Hounsou hasn’t paid Simmons child support, and his recent legal filing asks for support from the Baby Phat owner.
