Kardashian opens up to the mag about how art - specifically, her reality show "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" - has affected her life.
"I used to think, I have to be this or that or skinny, and now, because of the show, everyone is embracing just me, which has given me such a confidence," she explains. "Now, I'm like, Why did I ever give that feeling the time of day? I’m so mature now. I'm a grown-up version of myself."
And that version isn't necessarily what you see when reading the gossip mags each week.
Kardashian tells the mag, “I'm not a drinker, and when I'm up on the table dancing, it's for the picture. Then I sit right back down. I play into the perception of me, but it's not really me. And the show reveals that."
This is not the first time Kardashian's stripped down for the cameras, or even the second.
Her first go-round was for Playboy in 2007, a decision she later said she regretted.
"I'm sorry I did Playboy. I was uncomfortable," Kardashian told Harper's Bazaar earlier this year, explaining that she did it after her mother, Kris, encouraged her.
But the socialite willingly posed nude for Harper's May issue, though she covered her breasts with her arm and crossed her legs as she lay sprawled on the floor, a photo that was part of the magazine's look at natural, unretouched bodies.
"It's definitely scary, but it's very liberating," she said of doing the Harper's shoot. "I think the message is embrace your curves and who you are. I feel proud if young girls look up to me and say, 'I'm curvy, and I'm proud of it now.'"
