Kerry Washington Marries NFL Player Nnamdi Asomugha

Just like her "Scandal" character Olivia Pope, Kerry Washington knows how to keep things top secret.

The 36-year-old actress reportedly married San Francisco 49ers cornerback Ezenwa Nnamdi Asomugha on June 24 in Hailey, Idaho, E! News confirmed.

Undeniably Asomugha's greatest touchdown ever, the couple has been dating since last summer.

Now, after a secret ceremony reportedly witnessed by only their closest friends and family, Asomugha can call Washington his wife. The marriage certificate obtained by E! was signed by the actress' parents, Earl and Valerie. Minister Chisaraukwu Asomugha of Silver Spring, Md., officiated the hushed matrimony.

But the "Django Unchained" star has never been one to be public with her love affairs. In fact, her last known relationship was from 2004 to 2007 with fiancé David Moscow, who played the young Tom Hanks in "Big." Since then Washington has been single -- or so it seemed.

In a shocking twist, Hollywood's sexy bachelorette is now reportedly Mrs. Asomugha.
"We just received word that actress Kerry Washington has married NFL player Nnamdi Asomugha," a source told sports gossip site TerezOwens.com.

The news comes hours after Washington's rep told E! "We don't comment on our client's personal life," and the pro athlete's manager, Mark Holden, would neither confirm nor deny dating rumors.

While the 31-year-old NFL player seems to have a hard time committing to a football team, having played with the Raiders, Eagles and the 49ers, Asomugha has now reportedly made the ultimate commitment to Washington.

With her game face on, Washington has given no indication of a romance or any planned nuptials but instead took to Twitter Tuesday to express her excitement about her hit ABC show airing its second season in the UK.

"Ok. Logging off! See u in a few weeks!" she tweeted. "SO excited 4 all u UK #Gladiators about 2 experience Season 2! Spread the word! July 4th @More4Tweets."

Off field the newlyweds have more in common than it seems. Asomugha has also had stints in acting with previous appearances on TV shows like "The Game," "Friday Night Lights" and "Leverage."
