Kanye West, Steve McQueen Debut 'All Day/I Feel Like That'

Kanye West turned himself into the exhibit at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art on Saturday night, when he debuted his video short film for "All Day/I Feel Like That." The nine-minute clip was a collaboration with Oscar-winning director Steve McQueen, who joined West in conversation at the museum.

After the screening, LACMA director Michael Govan led West and McQueen in a characteristically no-holds-barred conversation about art, anger and — of course — apparel, the latter of which is instrumental in how the two luminaries came together for the project.

After engaging in long phone conversations about art over the past few years, West and McQueen (who attended West's wedding to Kim Kardashian last year) ran into each other at a clothing store in London. Five days later, they were shooting the dual video on London's east side dockyards.

The resulting work, which is on "display" at LACMA until July 28, features West, dressed head-to-toe in black, engaging the camera in one continuous long take against a simple backdrop of distressed wood.

"The first half features an animated West rapping the boastful 'All Day,' challenging and chasing the camera. The second half sees West changing gears for the slow-burning 'I Feel Like That,' slumped on the ground, singing mournfully," describes Billboard.

During the lengthy conversation, West discussed what inspired the lyrics for "I Feel Like That," which has not yet been released. "It comes from anger management," said West. "When you go to anger management, they give you this list, and they ask you a series of questions to see if you're truly angry. And I am."
