Kanye West Reportedly Hospitalized For Psychiatric Evaluation In Los Angeles

Kanye West is reportedly under psychiatric evaluation at UCLA Medical Center after a string of odd behavior, mid-concert rants and an abrupt cancellation of his "Saint Pablo Tour."

The rapper was being examined for severe sleep deprivation before paramedics were called Monday afternoon when he was “acting erratically,” according to TMZ.

West, 39, was hospitalized "for his own health and safety," sources told NBC News.

Cops were called to the home of his trainer, Harley Pasternak, around 1 p.m. local time Monday to conduct a welfare check after receiving reports of the odd behavior, TMZ reported.

West initially opposed going to the hospital before being convinced, and was handcuffed to the gurney while being transported, the gossip site reported.

The LAPD classified the case a "medical emergency," an official at the department told the Daily News. The LAPD then handed it off to the Los Angeles Fire Department, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Pasternak would not respond to questions from reporters when stopped outside of his L.A. home on Monday night.

The hospitalization follows a tumultuous week for the “Famous” rapper, who was booed at his San Jose, Calif., concert last Thursday after declaring he would’ve voted for Donald Trump had he cast a ballot in the presidential election.

Two days later, he stopped his show in Sacramento after just three songs and unleashed a fuming rant about Jay Z and Beyoncé before eventually leaving just 30 minutes after taking the stage. He then nixed his Sunday gig in Inglewood, Calif., before canceling the remainder of the tour on Monday morning.

"He's just exhausted," a source told TMZ. "He's been working around the clock on fashion design, both his own line and the Adidas line."

The tour also kept West away from his wife Kim Kardashian, who was robbed at gunpoint in Paris last month, and his two young kids, which reportedly played a factor.

"All the time spent away from his family has been a stress on him as well," the insider continued. "They are most important to him."

West's mother-in-law Kris Jenner echoed these sentiments on the Angel Ball red carpet in Manhattan on Monday evening.

"(I think he’s) just really tired," she told Entertainment Tonight. "It’s a grueling tour.”

West, who kicked off the “Saint Pablo Tour” in August, had added more concerts to his schedule last month and was slated to wrap things up with a New Year’s Eve show at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.

Fans who bought tickets for the canceled shows will be “fully refunded at the point of purchase,” a rep for the rapper told Pitchfork.
