Kanye West fans are reading between the lines.
The rapper fomented speculation of a feud with his "Watch the Throne" collaborator Jay Z when he left out his longtime friend's name on multiple songs during a performance at this weekend's X Games — a move that's widely being interpreted as a slight.
During Saturday night’s show in Austin, West first dropped Jay Z's name from his song "Cold,” which normally has the lyric, "Lucky I ain't had Jay drop him from the team," as seen in a vine video posted to the Kanyetothe.com forum.
If there was any doubt whether or not the omission was intentional, the "Cruel summer" rapper also dropped Jay Z's name from a lyric on "Blood on the Leaves," which was caught on another concertgoer's video.
He also changed the line from "He ain't with you, he with Beyoncé, you need to stop actin' lazy" to "He ain't with you, he with Beyoncé, you need to stop actin' crazy."
London's Guardian newspaper uncovered a third snub: a Jay Z-free version of "Touch the Sky."
Online conspiracy theorists are speculating that West may have been angry over Jay Z and Beyoncé's absence from his wedding to Kim Kardashian in Florence last month.
The Carters sent the couple their well wishes instead, Kardashian's mother, Kris Jenner, told an Australian radio show Tuesday.
