Judge Allows Tekashi 6ix9ine To Film Music Videos In Backyard

A federal judge ruled Wednesday that rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine can record music videos in his backyard while he rides out the rest of his prison sentence in home confinement.

“The defendant is permitted to conduct employment-related activities outside the residence but within the confines of the rented property for two (2) hours per week on one (1) specific day that needs advanced approval by the Probation Officer,” Judge Paul Engelmayer wrote.

The jurist’s decision comes a week after Tekashi’s attorney Lance Lazarro made the request.

Engelmayer sprung the rapper-turned-snitch earlier this month over concerns he could contract the coronavirus in prison and would be at high risk due to his asthma.

Tekashi’s video sets have been plagued by gun violence. The rainbow-haired rhymer was filming a music video in 2018 with Kanye West and Nicki Minaj in a rented Beverly Hills mansion when shots were fired through the window, according to media reports.

Tekashi — whose real name is Daniel Hernandez — pleaded guilty in December to racketeering and other charges and was sentenced to two years in prison after cooperating with the government.

The “Gummo” rapper is expected to finish out his term in home confinement, which is scheduled to end July 31.
