Joey Badass Cousin Shot And Killed In Brooklyn

An aspiring FBI agent was shot to death for no apparent reason outside a Brooklyn deli as his twin brother watched helplessly early Friday, cops and family members said.

Terrell Henry, 22, was blasted in the back and neck on Covert St. near Wilson Ave. in Bushwick just after buying an iced tea around 1 a.m., cops said. The killer fled and remained on the loose.

The victim’s twin brother Derrell was close enough to hear the gunshots outside the Reyes Food Market, and he rushed too late to his dying sibling’s side. A third friend was with Derrell when the shooting started.

“We heard the gunshots and we turned around and saw somebody get shot and fall to the ground,” Derrell told the Daily News. “But we didn’t realize who it was at the time.”

As the two men approached the victim, Derrell recognized his fraternal twin.

“I realize it’s my brother on the floor,” he recounted. “I run to try and help him out and then a couple people in the area ... called the cops for us.”

The father of the twins, George Henry, said his worst fears were confirmed when he reached the Wyckoff Heights Medical Center just hours after watching his sons head out together.

“When I got to the hospital he was already dead,” said Henry, 60. “They hadn’t said it yet. but when I looked at my son, I knew.”

Police provided no motive for the tragedy, and George Henry said his sons were just “at the wrong place at the wrong time.” The dad said he had sent the twins to private schools and kept them clear of neighborhood gangs.

“I don’t know if they mistook his identity or took him for someone else,” said George Henry. Police confirmed the victim had no criminal record at all.

A deli worker said there was no indication of impending violence when the shots started flying.

“The guy comes into the store and buys an Arizona (Iced Tea),” said the employee, who declined to give his name. “He walks out, crosses the street and gets shot. I heard like four shots. I never seen him (the victim) before."

The dead man was about to start his fourth year at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, where he was studying in hopes of joining the FBI, said his brother.

Derrell Henry said there was a man dressed entirely in black near the deli entrance, but he was unsure if that person was the killer.

The twins and their friend were heading home from a nearby rooftop party canceled by the rain when Terrell decided to stop at the deli for something to eat and drink.

George Henry said he and his wife shared a quiet moment as they watched the twin brothers leave their Bedford-Stuyvesant home Thursday night.

“She said, ‘Look at these two beautiful sons I gave you,’” he recounted.
