JENNIFER HUDSON TO SING AT THE SUPER BOWL PRE-GAME SHOW

Jennifer Hudson is set to sing "America the Beautiful" with a group of 26 students from Sandy Hook Elementary School, the NFL announced Thursday.

The Oscar- and Grammy-winning songstress joins the Newtown student chorus, which will perform at the pre-game show ahead of the matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens.

She joins a roster of hotly-anticipated performers headlined by beyonce, who announced at a press conference Thursday that she would "absolutely" be singing live.

The NFL is flying the Sandy Hook choir members and their families to New Orleans in an effort to reach out to members of the Newtown, Conn. community after a school shooting that left 26 sudents and staff dead in December 2012.

It will be Hudson's second Super Bowl appearance. Previously, Hudson sang the national anthem at Super Bowl XLIII. It was her first performance after the murder of her mother, brother and nephew.

This year, Alicia Keys will sing the national anthem.
