JAYSON WILLIAMS IS A NO SHOW IN COURT! HIS HEARING HAS BEEN POSTPONED INDEFINITELY!

Ex-NBA star Jayson Williams' anticipated guilty plea in a fatal 2002 shooting was delayed indefinitely after he didn't show up for court on Friday morning.
No explanation was given for his absence which postponed the final step in the nearly 8-year-old legal proceedings against the former St. John's and New Jersey Nets center.

Williams, 41, was reportedly set to enter a guilty plea for aggravated assault in the Feb. 14, 2002, slaying of Costas (Gus) Christofi.

"I spoke with Jayson throughout the night and morning," his wife Tanya Young Williams told ESPN. "He got very little sleep. He told me this morning that he will not be in New Jersey today and he has not signed any offer, but
he is taking this very, very seriously."

She filed for divorce from the former baller in February.

The plea bargain deal carried a three-year jail term, although Williams would become eligible for parole in the shooting after just 18 months.

Limousine driver Christofi was mortally wounded when Williams - after a night of drinking - cut him down with a
shotgun blast.

Williams was playing with the weapon when it went off, and has insisted the shooting was a tragic accident.

Prosecutors called it a crime, although Williams was acquitted of aggravated manslaughter at a 2004 trial where he was convicted of trying to cover up the shooting.

The 2004 jury deadlocked on a charge of reckless manslaughter. Williams was due back in court for a January retrial on that charge.
