Jay-Z is gearing up for his inaugural Shawn Carter Foundation Gala, a black-tie affair set to be held on the weekend of November 15 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida — but instead of sending out standard paper invitations, the 49-year-old hip-hop mogul opted for five-figure watches instead.
The “4:44” musician sent VIP guests like Meek Mill and Swizz Beatz gold Rolex Daytonas valued at around $40,000 along with bottles of Ace of Spades Champagne ($300) to celebrate the occasion.
Meek shared a photo of the timepiece on his Instagram Stories, writing over the shot, “Hov sent these as vip passes smh this rich s—t getting out of control lol,” adding, “I’m not joking lol.”
Swizz also posted his gifts on his Stories, along with the caption, “LEVELS Hov is on another level with the invite game. It came with a Daytona Rolex and a bottle of Ace.”
These luxe invites are just the start of what’s sure to be an over-the-top indulgent weekend consisting of performances and a blackjack tournament with a $100,000 buy-in.
All proceeds from the event will go to Jay-Z’s newly launched foundation’s scholarship fund, college prep workshops, study opportunities and community goodwill programs.
