Jay-Z Laughs Off NFLPA Investigation On Upcoming ‘Magna Carta Holy Grail’ Album

If Jay-Z’s got 99 problems, his NFLPA investigation ain’t one.

The rap star and multisport agent doesn’t sound too concerned in his upcoming album about the possible “runner rule” violation his firm Roc Nation is being investigated for.

The lyrics of “La Familia” from his upcoming record “Magna Carta Holy Grail” were leaked by the artist on Sunday and mention the football drama he is currently involved in.

“NFL investigations / Oh, don’t make me laugh,” is the lyric in question, presumably referring to the current NFLPA inquiry regarding Roc Nation’s signing of Jets quarterback Geno Smith.
Under the “runner rule,” only NFLPA-certified agents, which Jay-Z is not, can recruit athletes to their company.

Kim Miale, who did not represent a single player on any of the 32 NFL teams prior to signing the QB, is Smith’s official agent.

Roc Nation has signed a number of high-profile athletic talents since breaking into the agency world recently, including Robinson Cano, Kevin Durant and Smith.
