JAY-Z Cancels Nebraska Concert Due To Issues With His Video Screens

The show won't go on for JAY-Z in Nebraska.

The rapper canceled an upcoming concert Lincoln's Pinnacle Bank Arena because his crew would be unable to set up the video screens he uses inside the venue in time for the show.

"This tour is too important to me to do it halfway," JAY-Z, 47, said in a statement to the Omaha World-Herald. "I have to cancel the show."

"I respect you guys too much to take the money and run."

Ticketholders for the concert, which had been scheduled for Dec. 6, will receive a refund.

JAY-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, employs a series of screens that come down from the ceiling on his ongoing "4:44 Tour."

He canceled a concert for the same reason in Fresno earlier this month. He had not previously provided a reason for that cancelation, but confirmed that was the case in his statement.

The "Hard Knocks Life" rapper — who performed at Brooklyn's Barclays Center on Sunday — released his "4:44" album on June 30 and launched his supporting North American tour in October.

JAY-Z has made headlines with performances in recent months, including wearing a Colin Kaepernick jersey during a "Saturday Night Live" gig in October. Then last week, he lightheartedly fired back at Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James calling himself the king of New York by declaring he's the "king of Cleveland now."

The tour's final show will be held at The Forum in Inglewood, Calif. on Dec. 21.
