Don't blame Jamie Foxx for his "Star-Spangled" bomb at the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight.
The Oscar-winner says his in-ear monitors fell out before he had to sing the national anthem at the Las Vegas bout Saturday, leaving him unable to hear the accompanying organ.
Despite that, Foxx told Ellen Degeneres, "In the arena, it killed."
Foxx said he even got compliments from Denzel Washington and other A-listers in the audience.
However, he added, after hearing about Internet reports "clowning" his singing, he watched a video of the broadcast and admitted it was "off."
"In the stadium, you would have thought I was getting a standing ovation but the telecast it was different, it was so off," Foxx told ET.
Most of the criticism targeted the "Ray" star's choice to play with the song's arrangement as well as his failure to keep up with the organ.
Still, the 47-year-old star said, "I didn't think I committed a sin against America."
"We'll get another crack at it,” he told ET.
