If you're going to knock a girl when she's down, at least give her credit when she's up.
Perennial media punching bag Amy Winehouse – who is often under fire for looking, let's say, less than admirable – appears rather refreshed and downright beautiful in a new campaign for fashion powerhouse Fred Perry, featuring clothing she herself designed.

Yes, you read that right.

Amy Winehouse looking ah-mazing and designing her own line of – dare we say – preppy outfits.

Whodathunk it?

The collection, which features everything from pencil skirts to knitted silk shirts, officially launched at the London Fred Perry store last week, according to the Daily Mail.

Winehouse told the November issue of Harper's Bazaar that she was "honored" when the company suggested doing a line together.

And what followed – 18 pieces, including a belt and clutch – came together quite easily.

"I knew exactly what I wanted," she told the mag. "And I love Fred Perry so much."

A marketing manager for the company echoed those statements, telling Bazaar, "Detailing, fabrics — she was all over it. All over it."

So does Winehouse see herself as a style icon?

"No, of course not!" she said.

But, she added later, "If I died tomorrow, I would be a happy girl."
