This time, Ice Cube is straight outta Christmas.
The former N.W.A. rapper will star in "Humbug," a modern-day remake of "A Christmas Carol," as the miserly, misanthropic Ebenezer Scrooge, Deadline reports.
Cube, 46, will play a real-estate mogul visited by the traditional ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future, and will also co-produce the movie.
The Universal Pictures film, from "Think Like a Man" and "Fantastic Four" director Tim Story, may be released as early as 2017, according to Deadline.
Cube previously worked with Story on "Barbershop,” "Ride Along," and "Ride Along 2." He most recently produced the 2015 N.W.A. biopic about the Compton hip-hop group.
This contemporary adaptation of the classic Dickens novella joins iconic counterparts such as the 1984 George C. Scott film and "The Muppet Christmas Carol" (1992). The most recent film version was a 2009 animated motion-capture film starring Jim Carrey as Scrooge and all three ghosts.
