IN THE STREETS & ON THE WEB

First, she gave us "Single Ladies."
Now, Beyonce is unleashing another female-empowerment anthem: "Run the World (Girls)," which was released onto iTunes today.

"Girls, we run this mutha," Beyonce proclaims as the song begins. "Who run the world? Girls."

A demo version of the sassy track -- co-produced and co-written by the singer -- leaked earlier this week.

The video for the single is on its way as well.

"It'll be big," says its director Francis Lawrence, who also did the new Reese Witherspoon-Robert Pattinson flick, "Water For Elephants." "It'll probably be one of the bigger Beyonce music videos ever done."

For now, a 17-second clip can be seen on Beyonce's website.

“Run the World (Girls)” is the first new music Beyonce has released since 2008’s “I Am Sasha Fierce.” In January 2010, she said she was taking a break from music for the year.

"I'd like to take about six months and not go into the studio," she said at the time. "I need to just live life, to be inspired by things again."

Beyonce’s fourth album is expected to drop in June.

I REALLY DON'T KNOW IF I LIKE IT! MAYBE IT MIGHT GROW ON ME! BUT IT SOUNDS LIKE SOME RIHANNA TECHNO SH!T!
