Hit-Boy Drops New "Crow Bars" Freestyle After 'Idiots' Break Into His Studio

Hit-Boy is using a recent break-in at his studio as a source of inspiration, resulting in the just-released freestyle “Crow Bars.” The freestyle, shared Sunday (Jan. 4), finds the acclaimed producer reflecting on an early morning call he received alerting him to the break-in at his office and studio space. As Hit-Boy goes on to note, the incident, surveillance footage of which is included in the new freestyle’s official video, marks the “third time in two years” he’s been targeted by thieves. “This morning around 4 am some idiots broke into my office / studio and went thru a hassle just to get next to nothing,” the Goldfish artist wrote when sharing the freestyle to YouTube. “I had my grammys there and i know they wanted my jewels but not today champions FOH. i did a freestyle called ‘Crow Bars’ watching the footage of these low life's going thru my shit smh. If you know these clowns tag em in the comments i got cash for you.” The as-yet-unidentified individuals behind the break-in are mocked in Hit-Boy’s freestyle as “looking foolish,” with the producer revealing they “broke a laptop” but ultimately made off with very little in the way of loot. To drive home the point, Hit-Boy is seen in the freestyle’s official video holding his three Grammy trophies. “I been through the storms/This is just more rain,” he raps at one point. Hit-Boy isn’t alone in seeing his studio targeted by thieves this month. Last week, Sonny Digital told fans various pieces of musical equipment, including keyboards, had been stolen from his studio space. “I’m going to get this shit back,” he said at the time. “It’s just the principle of it, though, you know what I’m saying?”
