Halle Bailey Gives Credits To Her ‘Village’ Of Women Is Helping Her Raise Son

Halle Bailey is opening up about the support system helping her navigate life as a working single mother, saying the women around her have been essential as she raises her 2-year-old son, Halo. Speaking about motherhood while promoting her upcoming film You, Me & Tuscany, the 26-year-old said becoming a parent changed the way she sees herself. Bailey explained that after welcoming Halo, she felt more confident and more certain of who she is. “After I had my baby, I was like, ‘I’m grown-grown now,’” Bailey said to referencing her former role on Grown-ish. She added that Halo “made me more sure of myself and confident in my voice,” calling “stronger” her word for 2026. Bailey has largely kept Halo out of the spotlight since his birth in December 2023. The actor and singer first revealed that she had quietly welcomed her son after months of speculation surrounding her pregnancy. At the time, she explained that she wanted to protect both herself and her child from public attention. Now, Bailey says motherhood remains the center of her life, even as she balances filming, music, and a demanding schedule. Since splitting from DDG in October 2024, she has been raising Halo primarily on her own while also navigating co-parenting. The former couple, who began dating in 2022, had one of social media’s most closely watched celebrity relationships. After their breakup, reports surfaced of a contentious custody dispute that continued into 2025. “You don’t do it alone,” she said. “I feel grateful that I have beautiful women in my life that surround me and lift me up and that are my village. It’s a village job.” Bailey specifically pointed to her older sister, Chloe Bailey, as one of the people who has helped her through the last two years. She also said the experience has given her a deeper appreciation for women trying to balance career ambitions with motherhood. “Especially when you’re trying to work on so many different things,” Bailey said. “You’re trying to do your career as well as balance [motherhood], but I feel like women, we can do it all.” Bailey has continued to bring Halo with her while working. While filming You, Me & Tuscany in Italy alongside Regé-Jean Page, she spent her days off exploring with her son.
