Hermès is going from handbags to handlebars.
The French luxury label, which is most famous for its scarves and purses, has designed two lightweight bicycles.
Known as Le Flâneur d'Hermès and Le Flâneur sportif d'Hermès, the bikes will each be available in red, charcoal and white.
“We set out to make a real bike, not a decorative object. It had to be simple, efficient, easy to use, pleasant and elegant,” François Doré, the head of the Hermès Horizons division, told WWD.
The carbon fiber bicycles have shock-absorbing frames, hydraulic disc brakes and belt-driven transmission. They also come with a choice of eight or 11 gears integrated into the hub of the back wheel. While there is no front basket for a designer bag, the bicycle does have a luggage-rack support.
The ulra-luxe bikes will hit Hermès stores around the world in November, WWD reported. They will be sold for 8,100 euros (about $11,000).
If you can’t wait, or are looking for a more vintage-looking set of wheels, Hermès also makes a lacquered stainless steel bike ($4,650).
You might as well get a hooptie if your gonna spend 11 g'z
