GROUP WANTS THE RIGHT TO PULL OUT THEIR TITTIES IN PUBLIC & BREASTFEED!

One Michigan advocacy group is adamant that no child gets left - hungry, that is.

No Injustice Against Nursing in Public (otherwise known as NINJA NIPs) is a Michigan-based group that plans to advocate the right for women to breast-feed in public in an unconventional way - via a "nurse-in" later this month.

"We will be demonstrating and rallying in support of the mom and the right for women to nurse their baby anywhere, anytime," founder Mackenzie Hatfield-Johnson said of the upcoming event.

"Breastfeeding a child is sustaining for a child," she continued, "and there is no discrimination against a bottle-feeding woman and therefore there shouldn't be discrimination against a breastfeeding woman."

The unusual protest will involve approximately 25 to 30 people and Hatfield-Johnson said some protesters would likely be nursing their children during the two-hour rally.

NINJA NIPs' latest efforts were likely sparked by a courtroom incident that took place just one week earlier, during which a 32-year-old nursing mother butted heads with the courtroom judge.

Natalie Hegedus said she was breastfeeding her 5-month-old son in the back of the courtroom when Judge Robert Hentchel singled her out in front of the room and asked her if she thought what she was doing was appropriate, embarassing her.

Hentchel, on the other hand, claimed that he was merely maintaining order in the courtroom when he asked her the question as she approached the bench with her son in her arms.

"Judges do have wide discretion to, first of all, set the decorum rules for their courtroom and, also, to enforce them," a spokeswoman for Michigan's court administrator's office said.

"That is because one of the judge's core responsibilities is to maintain a fair and dignified administration of justice so a judge has to exercise control of their courtroom."

Michigan is one of only five states that doesn't have a law allowing mothers to nurse freely anywhere and anytime in public.

The official "nurse-in" will take place on Nov. 28 at 1:30 p.m.
