Six people have been busted in the grisly murder of a 15-year-old boy who was shot to death, burned in a fire pit and had his ashes placed in paint cans, police said.
The horrific killing occurred Sunday at a home in the central Florida city of Ocala and involved mostly teenagers.
"It's an unimaginable act -- the idea that six people would come together and carry out to kill a 15-year-old," Marion County Police Officer Judge Cochran told ABCNews.
"That's a plot that you just don't expect to see in your next day's newspaper. It's just not something expected in the community," he said.
Investigators say the victim, Seath Tyler Jackson, was lured to the house by his ex-girlfriend, Amber Wright, when she sent him a text message saying she wanted get back together.
Once inside, several of the defendants "bum-rushed" Jackson from a bedroom and beat him with a wooden ax handle.
He was then shot several times with a .22-caliber gun. He tried to escape but was dragged into a bathtub and shot once more, police said.
Jackson's body was then hog-tied and stuffed into a sleeping bag, which was thrown into a fire pit and burned for five hours.
His ashes were scooped into paint cans and thrown out with the trash.
Jackson's mother reported him missing on Monday. Cops were alerted to the chilling crime when Wright's mother told them her 16-year-old son, Kyle Hooper, had witnessed the killing.
Those arrested were identified as Michael Bargo, 18, Charlie Kay Ely, 18, Justin Soto, 20, James Haven, 37, and two minors whose names were not made public.
All, except for Haven, face first-degree murder charges. Haven - who is the stepfather of the minor children - was charged with allegedly helping to dispose of Jackson's remains.
Police say the killing was plotted in advance when the five younger defendants gathered on Sunday and "Michael Bargo began to speak of his hatred for the victim Seath Jackson."
"The conversation then turned into a plan to lure Seath to the residence so that Michael Bargo could kill him with the assistance of other persons," the police report said.
Messages posted on Facebook hinted at a messy breakup between Jackson and Wright, who then started dating Bargo.
When Jackson received the fateful text message, friends warned him not to meet Wright.
"I wouldn't fall for that," 16-year-old Brittnay Jones said she warned Jackson.
