GO CHARLA! SHE GOT A NEW FACE AFTER A MONKEY ATE HER SH!T!

The Connecticut woman horribly disfigured in a chimp attack revealed her new face for the first time Thursday, in a stunning transformation years in the making.
Charla Nash, 57, underwent a radical 20-hour surgery in May to give her a new face and replace her hands that had been torn off in the vicious simian assault in 2009.

While the double-hand transplant failed and had to be removed, Nash's new face has thrived, and she is slowly regaining the ability to speak, eat and smell.

"I will now be able to do things I once took for granted," she said in a statement. "I will be able to smell. I will be able to eat normally. I will no longer be disfigured."

"I will have lips and will speak clearly once again. I will be able to kiss and hug loved ones," she said. "Since Feb. 16, 2009, I have been blessed to be in the care of many incredible doctors, nurses and caregivers."

For her first meal following the the surgery, which was conducted by a team of 30 doctors at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, Nash had eggs and cream cheese. "I think she is impatient for recovery," her daughter Brianna told NBC's "Today" show. "Her speech is getting much better and she's been getting up and starting to eat."

Nash was horrifically injured in 2009 when visiting a friend, Sandra Herold. When Nash got out of her car, Herold's pet chimp, Travis, attacked and tore off her hands, nose, lips and eyes.

Police shot and killed the animal and the terribly injured Nash was rushed to the hospital where doctors managed to save her life.

Herold died of an aneurysm a year later, but Nash spent the next two years breathing through a tube and unable to eat solid food.

Nash's family is suing Herold's estate for $50 million and wants to sue the state of Connecticut for $150 million, claiming officials failed to prevent the attack.
