Who knew Amy Winehouse and Nas had such a close relationship.
The rapper has confirmed the longstanding rumor that the late British singer's 2006 song "Me and Mr. Jones" is about him.
"Side from Sammy you're my best black Jew," Winehouse sings on the track. "Mr Destiny 9 and 14/ Nobody stands in between me and my man/ 'Cause it's Me and Mr. Jones."
Nas -- whose real name is Nasir Jones -- has a daughter named Destiny and both he and Winehouse share the same birthday, Sept. 14 (hence, 9 and 14).
"I don't really remember if Salaam [Remi, producer], who was really close to her, who introduced us, if he told me about it or not," Nas told XXL of the relationship. "I don't remember right now. But, I heard a lot about it before I even heard the song."
Winehouse reportedly had a crush on the rapper, who married R&B singer Kelis in 2005 after a two-year romance.
She also sampled his song "Made You Look" on her 2003 single, "My Bed."
Before Winehouse's death in July, she and Nas had been planning a joint birthday bash.
