Future Trolled For Gifting Son $36K Rolex For His Fifth Birthday

Future is all about fashion.

It’s no secret that the “Mask Off” rapper, 35, enjoys a luxurious lifestyle; he once said he spends $300,000 a month on clothes for himself and spoils his 10-year-old daughter with Chanel shoes and designer purses. So it makes sense that he would give his son Future Zahir Wilburn an over-the-top gift when he’s still in kindergarten.

Future posted photos from his son’s fifth birthday on Sunday, where he presented him with a $34,850 gold Rolex watch. He captioned the pic with lyrics from Meek Mill’s “Dreams and Nightmares,” prompting fans to point out that in addition to choosing an absurdly extravagant gift, Future didn’t even wish his son a happy birthday.

“Not happy birthday son… But a meek mill quote,” one commenter said. “He don’t know the value of a Rollie, he wants toys,” another pointed out. A third said, “Kid probably wanted the Spider-Man watch lol.”

Multiple others compared Future to Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, who is married to Future Jr.’s mother Ciara. “Russell should have no problem teaching him how to tell time on that thing!” one commenter joked. “Can you take him back to Russell? Where he actually look likes a normal kid & not all this foolishness,” another said.

Meanwhile, Wilson posted a heartfelt tribute to his stepson on his own Instagram. “From the moment we came into each other’s worlds to now… 5 years later, you have changed my life and my heart for the better,” he wrote. “You are the greatest gift I could have ever asked God for! I will always love you, guide you, teach you, and care for you. Happy 5th Birthday Future! Papa Russ Loves you!”

Many fans took to the comments to praise Wilson, who also shares a daughter, Sienna Wilson, 2, with Ciara.

While Future has five children of his own, including his namesake, fans often compare him with Wilson, which has resulted in some tension between the rapper and his former fiancée’s new family. In January, Future shaded Wilson’s relationship with Ciara during a radio interview.

“He do exactly what she tell him to do. He not being a man in that position,” he said. “You not tellin’ her, ‘Bro, chill out with that on the internet. Don’t even talk to him. I’m your husband! You better not even bring Future’s name up!’”

He later walked back his comments.
