Eminem’s sister-in-law has reportedly died of a drug overdose.
Dawn Scott is said to have passed away on Tuesday in the Motor City Trailer Park in Detroit.
According to RadarOnline.com, police in Warren Michigan confirmed the 40-year-old died of 'an apparent heroin overdose, pending a toxicology test.'
Dawn has been friends with Eminem since she was a youngster. She is the twin sister of the singer’s ex-wife Kim Mathers, and the birth mother of the former couple’s daughter Alaina.
Just four months ago, Dawn revealed her struggle to beat her drug addiction, and told Radar that Eminem and Kim were giving her no help at all.
She said: 'I have a millionaire brother-in-law and a sister with money up the ass.'
Dawn’s boyfriend Les Martin, who she had lived with on and off for the past four years, also told the outlet he had called Kim many times and asked her to help her sister.
He said: 'I’ve been trying like hell to save her life. I’ve had numerous conversations with Kim about trying to get her help and it just wasn’t a conversation she wanted to have.
'She wanted to let Dawn go. I was so frustrated I was like, "Do you have a $10 million insurance policy on her?"'
Dawn had been homeless since 2014, sleeping on couches and even spending nights on the street.
She spoke to RadarOnline in August last year, and told the site: 'One night I called my sister and told her I had nowhere to go, 'Scott told Radar in August.
'She said, "That’s not my problem. Don’t bother me," and hung up.'
n another interview, her boyfriend Les said Dawn was 'doing any kind of drugs she could get her hands on.'
He added: “Heroin, cocaine, Adderall. If it was a pill, she would take it.
'Klonopin were her downfall. She was swallowing them things like candy.'
After running away from home when they were teenagers, Dawn and Kim moved in with Eminem and his mother when he was just 15, and he kicked off his romance with Kim back in 1989.
He and Kim married for the first time in 1999 and divorced in 2001, before remarrying in 2006 for just four months.
