Tiger Woods is a happy man once again, signing a three-year deal to endorse a Japanese pain reliever. Woods’ deal is with Kowa Company Ltd. This is his first endorsement since his life hit media with a Orlando sex scandal late in 2009. The new partnership will focus on the market in Japan and involves print, television and Internet ads. Woods has already filmed a commercial for “Vantelin Kowa,” a heat rub used for muscle and joint pain.
“When looking for a person for a new TV commercial for the Vantelin Kowa series, Kowa determined that Tiger Woods, with his No. 1 accomplishment as a golfer and his overwhelming presence, matches the promotional direction of the Vantelin Kowa series,” the company announced in a news release. Woods boasted an endorsement portfolio of $90 million prior to the scandal, including deals with Gatorade, Accenture and AT&T.
The former world No. 1 player hasn’t played since May 12 because of knee and leg injuries. He said Tuesday he will not return until he is fully healthy.
