Cuba Gooding Jr. Grope Accuser Wants Default Judgment Against Him

The bartender who accused Cuba Gooding Jr. of pinching her butt wants a judge to issue a default judgment against the actor — since he hasn’t responded to her lawsuit over a year later, new court papers allege.

Natasha Ashworth claimed that while she was waiting on Gooding at Tao Downtown Nightclub on Oct. 24, 2018, he repeatedly tried to grope her behind and then threatened to never come back to the bar after she rebuffed his advances, according to her October 2019 lawsuit.

The “Jerry Maguire” star has been variously accused by at least 30 women of inappropriately touching them or of sexual misconduct.

Gooding apparently never hired a civil lawyer to defend against Ashworth’s claims, as no attorney is listed for him on the case and no court papers were ever filed on his behalf in response to her suit.

Ashworth’s lawyer, Peter Scoolidge, said in court papers Tuesday that he personally served the lawsuit on Gooding on Jan. 22, 2020.

Still, “neither defendant nor his attorneys have appeared, served an answer or moved with respect to the complaint herein,” Scoolidge said in asking for the default judgment in favor of Ashworth.

Ashworth is now seeking an assessment of damages against Gooding.

Gooding’s criminal defense attorney Mark Heller didn’t comment on the request for a default judgment. But Heller said Ashworth’s suit “is totally baseless. There is no substance to the allegations.”

In August, another woman filed suit against the actor, accusing him of raping her twice in a Soho hotel room in 2013.

He has also been criminally charged on six misdemeanor counts of sexual abuse and forcible touching stemming from the allegations of three accusers — including Ashworth.

Gooding was arrested in June 2019 for allegedly grabbing a 30-year-old woman’s breast inside the Magic Hour Rooftop Bar and Lounge in the Moxy Times Square hotel on June 9.

Gooding has denied the allegations against him.
