The rapper gave a royal performance to a full house at Barclays Center Thursday night ahead of the screening of the "Game of Thrones" season four opener.
Born as Lonnie Rashid Lynn, Jr., Common made a majestic entrance to the arena's stage on the Iron Throne. He was greeted with the cheers of 7,000 fans to perform "The Ladder" from the "Game of Thrones" mixtape.
"I sit and think when I'm in my zone," he rapped, "This life is like a game of thrones."
Common, along with Big Boi, Wale, and Daddy Yankee, make up the talent on the HBO mix-tape, a ten-track album that features songs like "Mother of Dragons" and "Born to Rule."
Common was one of many surprise star appearances at HBO's "Game of Thrones: The Epic Fan Experience," which included several members of the show's cast.
The crowd of fans became as wild as Wildlings when cast member Kristian Nairn (Hodor) introduced yet another surprise guest — author George R. R. Martin, the tour de force behind the entire book series, and co-executive producer on the show.
