IN THE STREETS & ON THE WEB

The time is steadily approaching for the highly-anticipated Tupac Shakur biopic All Eyez On Me to make its debut in theaters, and now fans and spectators have an inside look as to what to expect for its fall arrival.

Actor Demetrius Shipp Jr., solidified his role as the revered lyricist since wrapping production earlier this year, and in the 30-second clip he steps into the “Hail Mary” rapper’s shoes during that time when Shakur was swarmed by reporters after his 1994 courthouse appearance. He was arraigned on sexual assault charges, which he was found guilty of and served time in a New York prison in 1995.

Shipp recently took to his Instagram account to share his journey of coating himself in Pac’s persona, writing “I hope my performance pays tribute and gives insight to your life and most of all ‘Spark the brain.'”

In the original video below, Pac shared his frustrations with the justice system, asking the resounding question why he was found guilty and not the other parties who were involved in the case. “I’m angry at the system. I don’t want nobody else to go to jail,” he said. “But I don’t want to go to jail for something I didn’t do. I just don’t want to be the scapegoat.”
