Chris Tucker Almost Died Filming 2Pac’s ‘California Love’ Video

“California Love” almost resulted in a California death for Chris Tucker in the wild, wild west.

“It was fun and dangerous at the same time. Tupac just got out of jail and Suge Knight was walking around with a Rottweiler. I didn't know if I was gonna get bit or what,” Tucker said on James Cordon’s “Late Late Show”

“I almost fell off a jeep. Michael Clarke Duncan saved my life, my good friend. He saved my life! I was so young.”

The actor said he was “overacting” on the back of the Jeep and when it went over a dune, Michael Clarke Duncan had to pull him back on.

The music video for “California Love” had a “Mad Max” theme featuring actors like Tucker and Duncan and rappers like Dr. Dre.

Tucker fires up a crowd of people in a tent in the year 2095 before the song kicks in.

“Can you dig it!? Man?” Tucker shouts.

Without Duncan they may have been digging the funnyman’s grave.
