Bobby Brown canceled his Friday night show in South Carolina, a week after Confidenti@l reported that the singer (inset) had checked into a center for substance abuse treatment.
That cancellation coincided with would have been his daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown’s 23rd birthday.
Also on Friday, a coroner’s report revealed that Bobbi Kristina’s death last year was drug-related.
Brown was unavailable when we reached out last week to investigate claims that he was being treated for substance abuse. He reactivated his Twitter account Saturday after a three-month silence to blame his missed performance in South Carolina on a different medical issue.
“My gastroenterologist has made the decision to keep me resting for another week,” Brown wrote, promising to return to the stage on March 26 in New Jersey.
Confidenti@l also broke the news last month that Brown’s wife Alicia Etheredge, was pregnant with their third child. She too declined to comment when we reached out about allegations that her husband was in treatment for substance abuse.
Etheredge-Brown referred us to Brown’s attorney, Chris Brown, who carefully evaded questions about Bobby being in rehab and insisted that the singer would perform in South Carolina at this weekend’s Charleston Jam Fest. Maybe he should see a gastroenterologist, too.
