Beyoncé Tops Forbes’ 100 Most Powerful Celebrities List

She really does run the world.

Beyoncé has topped Forbes magazine's newly unveiled list of the world's 100 most powerful celebrities.

The "Bootylicious" belter earned an estimated $115 million in the last 12 months with her surprise self-titled album, lucrative endorsements and mastery of social media, an editor behind the list told the Daily News.

"Beyoncé was so far ahead of anybody from the first time we looked at numbers," Forbes' Los Angeles Bureau Chief Dorothy Pomerantz said Monday. "Not only did she earn a ton of money, but she's taken her fame to the next level and become incredibly influential with her understanding of her fans and great use of Facebook and Instagram."

She said the "Run The World" singer, 32, clinched her right to reign supreme when she released her concept album on iTunes last December with no advance publicity and a companion video for each song.

"It showed such a keen understanding of where we are in the moment, how we want to consume, what we want to see. It was really brilliant," Pomerantz said.

Pomerantz said this was the first year Forbes added an "impact score," a new metric designed to smooth out anomalies and more accurately determine the most powerful celebrities across music, film, TV, sports, modeling and publishing.

"We start by taking more than 200 celebrities and putting them through the meat grinder of our scoring system. If we just used earnings, it would be almost all musicians because they just dominate," she said.

So Forbes divides the A-listers into categories and gives them all an "impact score" based on internal editorial research to "make sure it feels right," she said.

The list includes 10 actors and 10 actresses from film and then TV.

Some notable names that fell off the list year were Madonna, Carrie Underwood, Coldplay, Charlize Theron, Kenny Chesney, David Beckham, Jerry Seinfeld, Mila Kunis and Tom Cruise.

"Charlize, like a lot of actresses, is not on social media," Pomerantz explained. "Many actresses and actors like to keep themselves more private and not connect as strongly with fans so they can disappear into a role."

One actor who's successfully parlayed his fame into lucrative endorsements is "Mad Men" megastar Jon Hamm, who made the list at No. 89 this year, she said.

Hamm does voiceovers for Merceds-Benz commercials and Pomerantz said viewers can't help but picture his wildly popular character Don Draper.

"When you hear his voice pitching something, you think this is the smartest, best pitch ever created. You unconsciously think Mercedes is a smart brand because it's Don Draper."
