Beyonce - global humanitarian?

The mega-star made a move in that direction Friday night as she shot a top-drawer public service video of her song "I Was Here," on the floor of the U.N. General Assembly. The piece will serve to promote World Humanitarian Day, on Aug 19.

Appearing in a tastefully spangled, floor-length white gown, the statuesque star delivered a powerful live vocal to the song's musical track. A ballad of self-determination, "I Was Here" first appeared on her latest CD, 2011's "4."
