Beyoncé is putting down the microphone and picking up a pen.
The pop star penned an essay for The Shriver Report, a national research paper dedicated to issues faced by American women, addressing income inequality between genders.
In the op-ed, titled "Gender equality is a myth!" in case you miss how she feels about it, Queen Bey, under the name Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, argues that the income gap between genders won't go away without cooperation from both men and women.
"Humanity requires both men and women, and we are equally important and need one another," the 32-year-old "XO" singer posits. "So why are we viewed as less than equal?"
"We have to reach our boys the rules of equality and respect, so that as they grow up, gender equality becomes a natural way of life," Beyoncé continued. "Women are more than 50 percent of the population and more than 50 percent of voters. WE must demand that we all receive 100 percent of the opportunities."
Beyonce was only one of the famous faces enlisted to support the project. The full report includes essays by Maria Shriver, Eva Longoria and an appreciation of working single mothers by LeBron James.
