Adele isn’t just a powerhouse vocalist — she can rap too!
The Grammy winner showed off her skills when she joined James Corden for his latest installment of Carpool Karaoke on Wednesday’s “The Late Late Show.”
Corden filmed the segment with Adele in London over the holidays, and while the two belted out some of her greatest hits including “Hello” and “Someone Like You,” they also treated fans to some unlikely covers.
“I heard a rumor, which may be surprising to some fans, that you’re quite the rapper,” the host told her.
“I’m not that talented on me own,” she protested, before launching into a flawless rendition of Nicki Minaj’s verse from Kanye West’s “Monster.”
Minaj caught wind of Adele’s cover and took to social media to praise the star soon after the clip aired.
“Pull thru, QUEEN!!!!!” she tweeted. “The attitude & fingers to match.”
"Adele is mad ratchet. I can't take her #UK #wutsgood," Minaj alsogushed.
Adele and Corden's second cover song was inspired by one of the 27-year-old’s favorite groups, with the duo taking on the Spice Girls’ “Wannabe.”
The “Skyfall” singer revealed that she was such a fan of the Spice Girls while growing up that Geri Halliwell’s exit from the group marked “the first time I was truly heartbroken.”
During their ride, Corden also recommended Adele form her own all-star squad to rival Taylor Swift’s.
“If you put together a squad that was you, Beyoncé, Jennifer Lawrence, and she'd bring Amy Schumer, Emma Stone,” the TV host proposed. “Taylor Swift’s squad would f--- themselves."
“They’re Amazonian,” Adele said about the pop star’s group of pals, largely made up of supermodels. “They’re all so tall. They’d just kick us with their long legs!”
Adele is the latest in a long line of stars who have joined Corden’s popular singalong, including Stevie Wonder, Justin Bieber, Carrie Underwood, Mariah Carey, Rod Stewart, Iggy Azalea and One Direction.
