NBA star Earl Watson has had a change of heart after filing for divorce from his wife, "My Wife and Kids" actress Jennifer Freeman.
According to TMZ.com, Watson filed legal papers in Los Angeles last week, claiming his wife had violently attacked him during a late night fight Aug. 1.
Watson, 31, reportedly became suspicious after Freeman received a text message around 11 p.m. When he took her phone to check the message, an irate Freeman allegedly reacted by hitting him "forcefully twice in the face with her right open hand," reported the gossip website.
Freeman, 24, then allegedly grabbed Watson’s right wrist and bit down, "breaking the skin, leaving teeth marks and drawing blood," claimed the basketball player, who played with the Indiana Pacers last season.
He also added that once the actress let go of his wrist, she purportedly proceeded to bite down on his chest. Her second alleged attack also drew blood from the NBA veteran.
But that’s not all – Freeman then tried to attack Watson with an iron. However, he was able to knock the object out of her hand before she caused any more harm, according to TMZ.
Though Watson initially requested a divorce from Freeman, with whom he has a 10-month-old daughter with, the NBA star has apparently flip-flopped on his decision.
After TMZ posted news of the couple’s split, Watson's lawyer, William Briggs, told the website that the athlete has decided to withdraw his divorce petition on Thursday.
Despite the alleged attack, Watson has reportedly reconciled with Freeman and "plans to make their marriage work."
The couple wed in a lavish ceremony at TV producer Ed Weinberger's Los Angeles mansion in May 2009.
