50 CENT'S "STREET KING" WINS ENERGY SHOT OF THE YEAR AWARD FROM GNC!

With 50′s quest to help feed 1 billion people in Africa with the “Street King” Energy Shot, 50 has also managed to win an award for his new energy shot. Over the weekend the GNC Awards were held and 50 Cent won “Energy Shot Of The Year” with his SK Energy Shot. I had no clue you could win an award for an energy shot but tell 5 Hour Energy to move over because we have a new energy shot king. Read more about this after the jump.

“Last night street king energy won energy shot of the year at the GNC awards after just 2.5 months [due] to great sales in GNC’s [everywhere],” wrote the G-Unit leader on Twitter.

The drink was initially launched back in September by Fif and entrepreneur Chris Clarke. It was picked up by GNC in January and apparently has become quite the hit. “GNC is giving us a huge reach for a company we founded just four months ago,” said Clarke in a statement.

“Our rapidly expanding network significantly increases our reach and the contributions we are able to make to the World Food Programme. GNC has been an amazing partner, they truly care about the mission to eliminate hunger around the world.”

Every Street King energy shot sold contributes one meal to the UN World Food Programme, which aims to feed the world’s hungry children. 50 Cent plans to use the drink to provide one billion meals to children over the next five years, thus far Street King is responsible for over 3,500,000 meals.
