Blueface Says Inmates Rooted For Drake During Kendrick Beef

Blueface is shedding light on how one of hip-hop’s biggest rivalries played out behind bars, and according to him, the energy inside jail leaned heavily in Drake’s favor. During a recent conversation with Bootleg Kev, He recalled how inmates reacted to the highly publicized feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar while he was incarcerated. “I think it was dope. I like shit like that,” Blueface said, describing the back-and-forth as something the culture needed the music and diss tracks were still reaching inmates in real time, sparking debates and strong opinions among those locked up. “Everybody choosing their side,” he said. “It’s crazy… n****s in jail like, ‘Man, I’m ready to go do it for Drake right now. When I get out, I’m gonna go kill somebody for OVO. Blueface added that some inmates even tried to claim distant personal ties to Drake or his circle, further fueling the intensity of the discussions. “They saying they ties… like, ‘my sister, baby daddy, cousin, auntie,’” he said. “People was really picking a side.” At the time, Blueface was serving time in a Los Angeles County facility following legal issues tied to a probation violation stemming from a prior case. While incarcerated, he remained tapped into pop culture moments like the Drake-Kendrick feud, which dominated headlines and social media throughout its peak.
