Regina Hall firmly developed her faith while in the process of becoming a nun. The movie star spoke to TODAY’s Craig Melvin on the episode of the Glass Half Full podcast, Hall shared that she took the “initial step” to novitiate. After comparing it to “ring shopping,” Hall explained that the time that preceded her attempt to become a nun was “more significant” than the undertaking. The entertainer said that there was an “incredible romance” that she was having with God at the time. “It was an incredible time of meditation, of prayer, of quiet,” Hall continued. “It was just an incredible, peaceful time.” Play On what led to her pursuit of being a nun, Hall credited a life-changing breakup that happened roughly three years before. “It made the breakup worth it,” she admitted. “I just saw all the beauty in the divine orchestration of things, and I thought it was great. Hall added that she didn’t complete the steps of formation because she was “too seasoned” in age. “They had an age thing,” she said. “It was like 39 and I was a little north of that,” said the 55-year-old. Last September, the actress was a guest on podcast Good Hang With Amy Poehler and said she considered becoming a nun “several times” while in high school, long before her experience at 41 years old. “They were like, it's not a backup plan, miss. Get on out of here,” Hall joked on the podcast.
