Toronto rapper Top5 found himself at the center of a violent incident over the weekend after being stabbed in London following Drake’s headlining performance at the annual Wireless Festival the attack occurred shortly after Drake closed out his three-day takeover of the festival, with Top5 reportedly engaging with fans near the festival grounds before the assault unfolded. Initial accounts suggested that Top5, born Hassan Ali, was ambushed near the stage by a masked individual. However, the Metropolitan Police provided a different version of events. According to their statement, “officers were called to Springpark Drive near the festival grounds at approximately 12:15 a.m. on Monday (July 14), where Top5 was found after having been beaten and stabbed by a group of individuals. In addition to the stabbing, the suspects allegedly vandalized the OVO affiliate’s vehicle, “smashing its windshield during the assault,” police confirmed. a statement from a police spokesperson, noting, “The victim, a man in his 20s, was approached by a group who damaged his car before stabbing him in the leg. He was taken to hospital and his injuries are not believed to be life-changing. Inquiries remain ongoing and no arrests have been made at this stage.
