Jim Jones Takes Credit For Making Nas’ Go Viral

Jim Jones is making headlines for his recent remarks about Nas, calling into question the rap icon’s cultural relevance In a string of interviews, he suggested that while Nas is respected, his own solo career has connected more with younger audiences and has had a stronger presence in the current Hip-Hop landscape. Jones claimed that his recent commentary helped make Nas viral something he says hasn’t happened since the “Ether” days. “What I did for Nas recently probably has never been done in his life. Last time he was in some viral sh*t like this was when he was getting at JAY-Z. He added that while he hasn’t spoken to Nas directly, he believes the wave of discussion surrounding his comments has brought new attention to the Queensbridge rapper The conversation first gained traction on the Joe & Jada podcast, where the “Ballin” rapper discussed how his perception of Nas as a fan evolved as he entered the rap game. “I was a superior Nas fan but when you get into the game you realize your idols be rivals,” he said. “My son can’t tell me one Nas record.” Jones also pointed to his chart history and sales, noting, “Check my track record, then check everybody else’s… I been spanking a lot of this sh*t. Nas has not responded publicly to the comments, but the discussion ignited debate online with majority defending Nas’ legacy
