Benzino had an epic meltdown during a recent interview, as the rapper and media mogul blasted a podcast host by repeatedly calling him a “cracker” and challenging his Hip-Hop expertise. While appearing on an episode of The Big Dookie Chain podcast, Benzino was asked about his experience as one of the heads of The Source magazine, which was once regarded as “The Hip-Hop Bible” within the culture. However, Benzino became visibly perturbed by the host using the term “fumble” in describing his exit from the publication, resulting in the Boston native verbally lashing out during the middle of the episode. Despite being biracial himself, Benzino ridiculed the host’s seeming lack of understanding of Hip-Hop and urban culture due to him being a “white guy.” “What gives you the right to say something that I fumbled as big as the f**king Source, as much as it did,” the “Rock The Party” artist shouted, becoming increasingly enraged at the question. As the host attempted to express his respect for Benzino’s role at The Source, he continued his tirade, further downplaying the hosts’ own media and cultural credentials “You ain’t Hip-Hop, you ain’t done sh*t, and you’re just a fan-boy. That’s it, nothing else,” the 59-year-old barked. “I don’t think you know what the f**k you’re talking about. Benzino’s string of slights continued, as he accused the podcast host of “giving off a hater vibe” while scoffing at the notion that he or any other white man can appraise his own contributions Writing the host off as “one of these miserable white guys that wants to be accepted so bad,” Benzino grouped him in with other detractors he believes are “just mad” at him “‘cause of the Eminem thing,” despite the host pointing out that he’s not a fan of white rap artists. “Eat a dick. F**k you and your questions,” Benzino grumbled, requesting that the other host assume control of the interview and the line of questioning Benzino was one of the heads of The Source from the mid ’90s until the mid ’00s, as he resigned from the magazine in 2005.
