The NYPD is probing whether two men killed in a hail of bullets inside a Bronx apartment building hallway were murdered as revenge for the fatal drive-by shooting of a dad walking with his 6-year-old daughter, police sources told The Post.
A pair of gunmen cornered Joel Baba, Eghosa Imafidon and a third man in the hallway of a Claremont building around 8 p.m. Sunday, according to cops.
Harrowing surveillance footage shows the shooters blasting the three men at close range as they desperately tried to reach the safety of an apartment in the building on East 171st Street near College Avenue.
Baba, 22, and Imafidon, 23, were killed, while the third man, 29, was struck in the arm and expected to survive, according to police.
Investigators suspect the attack was revenge for another caught-on-video murder that took place just over two hours earlier and four blocks away.
In that horrifying ambush, Anthony Robinson, 29, was gunned down by a drive-by shooter as he crossed Sheridan Avenue near East 170th Street — hand-in-hand with his 6-year-old daughter.
As Robinson crumpled to the pavement, the youngster took off running, terrified but apparently physically unharmed.
Authorities had not announced any arrests in either slaying as of Tuesday afternoon, and it remained unclear what might have sparked the initial attack on Robinson.
The trio of homicides comes amid a citywide spike in gun violence that saw more people wounded by gunfire last week — 101 — than in any week since June 1995.
