Yung Miami has apologized for scolding a DJ by calling his music selection “fucking trash.” The City Girls member was a guest on SiriusXM’s Hip Hop Nation, where she was asked by host Gray Rizzy about the incident, which occurred during a White Party in Miami. As seen a reel from the event, the “Tea Time” artist approached the DJ booth to take a microphone and criticized their set “You gotta turn that bitch up,” Yung Miami said at one point. On SiriusXM’s Hip Hop Nation, the rapper said that she meant no harm and was “genuinely trying to have fun” among her friends. “And I think looking back at it, it was very immature. It's not what you do, it's how you do it. And it was just—it was distasteful,” she continued. “It wasn't probably the right thing to do, but I just was in a moment where I'm just like, ‘OK, like I just want to have fun. I'm genuinely just ready to turn up.’ “It wasn't who I am. That's not me,” she added. “I'm a fun girl. I like to have fun. I didn't do it with bad intentions neither. It wasn't to hurt nobody or to make somebody feel bad or to disrespect nobody.” Yung Miami went on to say that “DJs are important” and that “everybody deserves love.” “And I think that like we all in our job field get criticized and go through things like that, you know? So it was just an honest mistake,” she concluded. The Florida native has dealt with a fair share of criticism to her recent solo music. She appeared on Hot 97 last week and expressed feeling “pushed” out of music. “I'm feel like I'm strong now to the point I can't get broken. They done broke every bone in my body. I’m healed from that,” Yung Miami told Nessa Diab in the interview.
