Yung Joc arguably has a place in hip-hop history snatching up credentials for popularizing snap music with his smash, "It's Going Down."
Couple that with some notable, slow-flow verses on records like T-Pain's "Buy You A Drank" and the hit, "Get Like Me" and you may understand why Joc made the Forbes list in 2006 for reeling in $10 million.
But after a familiar and almost inevitable separation from Bad Boy records, Joc's road to household name fame seemed to stall a bit and his album sales never matched his gold debut. So now the Yung emcee is making a return with a mixtape dedicated to the memory of The Notorious B.I.G entitled Ready To Fly.
Joc knows that it's been some years since he released music and has naysayers assuming that his career is finished.
Joc told MTV, “I remember on my last mixtape, ‘Grind Flu,' I got a song with Chris Brown. I remember people were like, ‘Why you got Chris on there? It's over for him.' Look at him now.”
Well he certainly can't go wrong with C Breezy as his role model and Gucci Mane, 8Ball, Tity Boi and Yo Gotti featured on the new mixtape.
“You can hear the pain in my voice on this record. Ain't nothing about it fake.”
