Yuck! Chinese Woman Has A 8 Foot Tapeworm Removed From Her Body

A Chinese woman has had an 8-foot-long tapeworm removed from her stomach after she ate an undercooked holiday meal.

Doctors discovered the tapeworm after she complained of feeling unwell.

The woman, who is in her 30s and identified only as Mrs. Li, was diagnosed as having taeniasis, a tapeworm infection, after eating undercooked, contaminated beef while she was on vacation in Southeast Asia.

Tapeworms lay eggs in cysts which form on animals, reports the Mirror, and if not properly cooked, they can hatch and grow in humans.

Mrs. Li was treated, but said the thought of the tapeworm being inside her is "disgusting and almost makes me faint," she said, according to the Mirror.
