A 2019 shooting involving rapper YoungBoy Never Broke Again is reportedly being investigated by federal and state agents in Florida and Louisiana.
YoungBoy NBA, a Baton Rouge native whose real name is Kentrell Gaulden, was reportedly involved in an incident in which a black Cadillac Escalade drove up and opened fire on him and his associates while they were exiting the Trump international Beach Resort in Florida in May 2019, WAFB reports.
Mohamad Jradi, 43, was killed in the crossfire of the shooting after a bullet traveled from across the street through his vehicle and struck his head.
YoungBoy NBA was not shot during the incident, but his girlfriend at the time, Kaylyn Long, 19, was reportedly hospitalized due to injuries sustained, WAFB reports. A 5-year-old was also reportedly grazed by a bullet during the incident and received treatment and released at the scene.
A source with knowledge of the investigation told WAFB that state and federal law enforcement in Louisiana have been working with law enforcement in Florida to share information related to the case. Louisiana law enforcement members were also taken to the scene and allowed to interview several individuals connected to the case, the source confirmed.
YoungBoy NBA was in Florida at the time of the incident to perform at the Rolling Loud Music Festival. No arrests have been made in connection to the shooting as of Monday (January 4.)
