Things aren't looking good for controversial recording artist XXXTentacion.

The Florida native, born Jahseh Onfroy, is now facing 15 felony witness tampering charges stemming from a 2016 domestic violence case involving an ex-girlfriend, according to TMZ.

Law enforcement sources told the outlet Onfroy made a number of recorded calls during his initial jail stint which led to new charges against him.

The details of those phone calls have not been made public, though a previous report from TMZ suggested that prosecutors believe he coerced his ex-girlfriend into dropping the charges against him.

Onfroy has reportedly had phone priviledges revoked while in jail to avoid further issues.

He was hit with eight new counts of witness tampering on Monday in addition to seven previous counts handed down by Miami-Dade County Judge Teresa Mary Pooler on Dec. 15.

Following that hearing, Onfroy, 19, was taken directly to jail for the new felony charges and violating the bond of his initial arrest.

The rapper's expected to remain behind bars until his next trial date. He's currently facing decades in prison for allegedly brutalizing his ex-girlfriend and then coercing her to drop her case against him.

Onfroy's arrest comes shortly after he submitted court documents, which he alleged had been willingly signed by the victim, stating that she no longer wished to pursue legal action against him. This filing delayed his trial, but did not see the case dropped as he'd hoped.

Prosecutors believe the victim was

He was arrested in October 2016 and charged with aggravated battery against the unnamed victim as well as false imprisonment, domestic battery by strangulation and witness tampering.

Pitchfork obtained a copy of the victim's testimony in which she claimed Onfroy, her on-and-off live-in boyfriend at the time, had been regularly violent toward her.

She stated that the pair began living together in May 2016. Shortly after, he slapped her and damaged her iPhone after she complimented another man on his jewelry.

The victim said in her testimony that her boyfriend grew increasingly violent toward her following that incident, threatening to kill her "literally like every day." She alleged that he head-butted, punched, stomped and kicked her once for humming along to a song and threatened to cut out her tongue.

In August of that year, Onfroy was arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a firearm, armed home invasion and robbery in connection with an incident not involving his then-girlfriend.

He pleaded no contest to all charges against him and was sentenced to six years' probation.

After he was released from police custody, he and the victim moved back in together in North Miami. She claimed in her testimony that Onfroy threatened her with a glass bottle after learning that she'd been intimate with another man following his arrest.

A week later the pair moved into an apartment in Sweetwater where Onfroy reportedly strangled the woman several times. She said another resident intervened, stopping him from hurting or killing her.

The victim testified that she learned she was pregnant in October 2016. That month she claims Onfroy repeatedly called the man with whom she'd been intimate outside her relationship with him and threatened to kill her and her unborn child.

She also accused him of having head-butted, punched, elbowed, strangled and threatened to kill her in the bathtub of the home they shared.

Onfroy continues to maintain his innocence.
